A large number of the Paris Saint-Germain squad were trapped in a lift before their Champions League clash with RB Leipzig.

German fire-fighters were deployed to the GrandHotel Handelshof in Leipzig to rescue the stricken players just after 9pm on Tuesday evening.

Just 24 hours later, Thomas Tuchel’s men were then beaten 2-1 by the Bundesliga side.

It is understood the players involved in the incident included Presnel Kimpembe, Leandro Paredes, Angel Di Maria, Marquinhos, Bandiougou Fadiga, Abdou Diallo, Idrissa Gueye, Moise Kean, Colin Dagba and Kays Ruiz-Atil.

Left back Layvin Kurzawa uploaded a video of the incident to his social media channels and found the whole escapade highly hilarious.

According to French publication Le Parisien, Kurzawa can be heard asking: “It’s okay?” before laughing. Soon a voice answers him: “It’s not okay brother!”

When another player jokes that Neymar and Mbappe are both inside, laughter apparently broke out as the pair are not in the squad through injury.
