The heated confrontation between Anthony Joshua and Kubrat Pulev at yesterday’s weigh-in continued backstage as the Bulgarian roared in AJ’s face.

Joshua went head-to-head with his opponent on Friday as the Brit prepares to put his heavyweight titles on the line at Wembley Arena on Saturday night – and it kicked off.

AJ told Pulev and his team to calm down, but the challenger refused to take this advice on board.

They then clashed in a fiery face off which AJ walked away from, only to return twice as they continued to shout in each other’s faces.

And it appears the war of words continued backstage.

In previously unseen footage, Pulev tells AJ: “Tomorrow will be a good day for me. I respect you, my friend. I don’t hate you.

“But I am a better boxer.”

The 38-year-old then started beating on his left glove with his right hand and belted out a ferocious roar in AJ’s face, which the 31-year-old just laughed off.

It all ended on friendly terms as they bumped fists and Pulev said, ‘I like you, man’ before AJ responded, ‘I’ll see you tomorrow’.

Joshua certainly didn’t seem affected by his rival’s attempts to intimidating him, and the champion did not plan on losing any sleep over it.

He said yesterday: “Once a killer, always a killer. I sleep good. Certain people can’t sleep at night because they’re really tuned up for a fight.

“But I must be a good psychopath because I’m sleeping like a baby. I’m not worried. I do this. I go in and fight every day if I have to.

“If a shot lands and causes a lot of damage I will be looking to take him out. That doesn’t leave someone.”
