Anthony Joshua makes offer to become Tyson Fury’s new manager – despite ‘Gypsy King’ securing £80m deal with ESPN and Top Rank

Anthony Joshua has cheekily suggested world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury should hire him as his manager if he wants to fulfil his superstar potential.

The 2012 Olympic Gold medallist is on course for a mammoth unification fight with ‘The Gypsy King’, but must first get past mandatory challenger Kubrat Pulev.

Joshua holds the WBA, WBO and IBF world titles, while Fury clinched the WBC and Ring Magazine straps from Deontay Wilder during their rematch in February.

Not since Lennox Lewis defeated Evander Holyfield in 1999 has there been an undisputed world heavyweight title fight, with the expectation and hype significantly ramped up for this event.

However, Joshua feels as though Fury could be managed better in order to become a ‘superstar’ and even offered to take control of the 31-year-old’s career.

“I do think he should come over to Matchroom and 258 Management and let us handle his career,” Joshua told the Daily Mail.

“He’s a superstar, he’s a superstar in the making with the right management. He could go all the way.

“Build it up, award him Sports Personality of the Year. That video he did [on Wednesday, when he asked to be removed from the SPOTY shortlist] should be him saying, ‘I’m accepting my award’, not that, ‘I don’t want to be a part of it’.

“We’ll have a look at his PR, we’ll strip it all back and make this fight what it’s supposed to be.

“He’s got a lot of potential.”

It would seem Fury is in the perfectly capable hands of co-promoter’s Bob Arum and Frank Warren after making his return to the sport in 2018.

In 2019, the Morecambe-man signed a deal with American broadcaster ESPN worth a reported £80million, with BT Sport still showing his fights in the UK.
