Two fighters on the undercard for Anthony Joshua vs Kubrat Pulev were involved in a ‘tear-up’ at the Hilton Hotel on Thursday night.

With all the competitors staying in the same building ahead of the event at Wembley Arena on Saturday night, tensions are running high, and they boiled over between Macaulay McGowan and Florian Marku following a war of words on Twitter.

The fighters clashed in the corridor around 11pm last nightMatchroom

Super-welterweight McGowan fights Kieron Conway tomorrow night, while welterweight Marku will take on Alex Fearon before Joshua and Pulev do battle in the main event.

While they face different opponents this weekend, McGowan gave an interview from his hotel room calling Marku a ‘little gobby midget’ and outlined his intention to move down to welterweight and fight the Albanian.

Responding to the interview, Marku called out McGowan on Twitter and revealed his room number so the boxer could ‘say it to his face’.

Footage later emerged of a confrontation between the pair and security were forced to step in.

You can watch the video below:

Marku could be heard shouting: “Maybe you are stupid and have been kicked so many times in the head.

“I’m going to break your tooth, why do you say things that you may not do?

“I don’t know him, this f****** stupid guy, if he comes to my room I will close the door and I will make him cry.”

Ok waiting for you

Responding to the dust-up, show promoter Eddie Hearn told the talkSPORT Breakfast show on Friday: “We’re in the bubble here at the Hilton Hotel in Wembley, it’s really weird.

“All the fighters are mixing with each other, trying to stay out of each other’s way… we nearly had a tear-up on floor seven last night!

“It was across social media, between a couple of guys.”

When Alan Brazil jokingly asked whether it was between the Matchroom chief and rival promoter Frank Warren, Hearn replied: “No, that would’ve been easy work!”

Despite the tear-up, all eyes will be on Joshua vs Pulev, as the 31-year-old Brit defends his heavyweight titles against the 38-year-old Bulgarian in front on 1,000 fans at Wembley Arena tomorrow night.
