The Arsenal squad reportedly held a ‘clear-the-air’ meeting following a disappointing start to the season.

The Gunners find themselves way down in 14th place in the Premier League having lost five of their opening ten games.

What is more concerning is the form of some of their star players including Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The forward has netted just twice in the league this season as Arteta’s side struggle to score goals.

Reports suggested that all is not well in the Arsenal camp with David Luiz and Dani Ceballos said to have been involved in a physical exchange after a tough tackle by the latter towards the end of a practice match.

It was also claimed Luiz had drawn blood from Ceballos during the exchange but Arteta played down the incident, though, and was unhappy that the story leaked.

ESPN report that Arteta gathered his players on Tuesday in a bid to address their woeful league form.

The Spaniard is said to have invited a ‘frank exchange of views’ during that meeting.

The first-team players themselves then stayed behind for a second meeting described as ‘stormy’ and ‘intense’.

Sources told ESPN that there was an ‘angry but constructive’ dialogue during their meeting and the players resolved to rally around the manager.

Arteta has been under increasing scrutiny for his side’s performances with an important clash with rivals Tottenham on Sunday, who currently top the Premier League.
