Blackburn turned into Barcelona as they scored a stunning tiki-taka goal against Coventry, with a little help from Liverpool teenager Harvey Elliott.

The 17-year-old only arrived from Anfield on a season-long loan last week, and he has quickly proved why he’s so highly valued by the Reds.

Elliott was one of the stars of the show in a 4-0 away win for Rovers on Saturday, as the teenager scored the first senior goal of his career in just his second appearance for the Championship club.

He also provided a fine assist for a goal that was right out of Barcelona’s playbook, putting it on a plate for Sam Gallagher to round off the big win.

Adam Armstrong scored the other two, first from the penalty spot and the second with a thumping finish, but it’s likely Elliott will steal the headlines with his goal and assist.

And, after watching replays it’s easy to see why, as Elliott was involved in a brilliant flicked give-and-go that gave him space to run into the box and cut it back for Gallagher to fire in.

Harvey Elliott's just made a beautiful goal. One flick over the defender, then receives the ball and cuts it back to Gallagher, who scores.

His earlier goal, a simple tap in after good build-up play from Rovers, also made the Liverpool starlet the fourth-youngest goalscorer in Blackburn’s history.

At 17 years and 203 days, he’s the Lancashire club’s youngest scorer since John Byrom all the way back in 1961.
