Scoring a late winner to give Leicester a 2-1 triumph at Sheffield United – boyhood Sheffield Wednesday fan Jamie Vardy lives for these moments.
The striker slotted the ball home in stoppage-time to give the Foxes the three points – and to celebrate Vardy smashed one of the Bramall Lane corner flags to smithereens, something he got a yellow card for.

Vardy showed great composure in front of goal but was less composed seconds latersky sportsVardy clipped the ball over the onrushing Aaron Ramsdale as he latched onto a through ball by James Maddison, who dispossessed John Fleck in a dangerous area.
Earlier, Ayoze Perez slammed the ball home to give Brendan Rodgers’ side the lead but Oli McBurnie replied straight away with a header.
The home side were perhaps lucky not to be reduced to ten men late in the first half as Max Lowe tripped Perez having already picked up a yellow card for pulling down Youri Tielemans.
It would have been a big talking point had the spoils been shared but Vardy ensured his goal and celebration would steal the show.
Vardy made his big moment at Bramall Lane countAFPIt was a deserved victory for Leicester, who dominated possession but didn’t appear to be getting the rub of the green at Bramall Lane.
Vardy had the first chance of the match but his effort cannoned off the post. Maddison then hit the same post from a similar position just before half time.

But Sheffield United equalised moments later as McBurnie’s header bounced. The home side then got a nice piece of luck with Lowe avoiding a second yellow card for a clear trip on Perez.

Lowe would have got a second yellow for this on another dayGetty - PoolLeicester had much of the ball after the break but failed to create many clear-cut opportunities. But one was all they needed as Vardy made his finish count before taking his pent-up anger at the absent Sheffield United fans by smashing the nearest corner flag to pieces with a slide tackle.
