Premier League champions Liverpool make the trip to Brighton this afternoon looking to climb back to the top of the table.

The Reds go into today’s lunchtime kick-off only trailing leaders Tottenham by goal difference.

Liverpool take on Brighton this weekend as they look to go top of the Premier League table

Jurgen Klopp’s men saw off fellow title challengers Leicester 3-0 last Sunday but did suffer a shock Champions League defeat to Atalanta in midweek.

Brighton, meanwhile, returned to winning ways last time out as they claimed a fine 2-1 victory at Aston Villa.

The Seagulls are only just above the relegation zone and need to keep picking up points.

Liverpool won this fixture 3-1 last season and have beaten Brighton nine times on the bounce.

Brighton star Tariq Lamptey is suspended following his red card against Aston Villa last time out.

Leandro Trossard and Adam Lallana were both doubtful this week but both make the bench.

For Liverpool, Mohamed Salah returns to their starting line-up while Sadio Mane drops to the bench.
