Chelsea winger Hakim Ziyech continued his brilliant form on the international stage on Friday night with two goals and an assist in Morocco’s 4-1 victory over Central African Republic.

The Blues forward, who arrived at Stamford Bridge for £33million from Ajax over the summer, has enjoyed a blistering start to life at Stamford Bridge earning three man of the match awards in his opening three starts.

And he continued in similar vein with a fantastic display in Morocco’s 4-1 World Cup qualifier victory against the Central African Republic.

The 27-year-old set up Inter Milan’s Achraf Hakimi for their opener on 10 minutes with a delightful defence-splitting through ball.

CAR equalised shortly after but the Chelsea man then put his nation back in front from the spot before making it 3-1 from an incredible angle in the pick of the goals, firing home from a tight angle to put Morocco in command shortly before half-time.

Earlier this week, Pat Nevin, who spent five years at Stamford Bridge from 1983-88, insisted Frank Lampard has a dime in his ranks in the shape of Ziyech.

“It was a magnificent performance showing little glimpses that reminded you of the best of Eden Hazard at one moment and then Cesc Fabregas’s genius two minutes later,” Nevin said of Ziyech on Chelsea’s official website.

“I can already see something special with Reece and Hakim. You might stop one, but that will create space for the other. Timo Werner has obviously figured out that he is a good guy to know.

“Every time Hakim gets the ball, Timo is off haring into space knowing that Hakim can find him nine times out of ten. If that ball is coming in from the right wing, Timo will be on that back post.”
