Conor McGregor may have retired from MMA – again – but now he seems more motivated than ever to fight again.
The Irishman has a potential bout with Dustin Poirier tentatively scheduled for next year – although there has been no official confirmation yet – and with Khabib Nurmagomedov retiring McGregor will find himself back in the lightweight title picture with a win.

The 32-year-old has been posting on social media talking about how good he feels and he looks it, too.
“If I tell you I am good, probably you will say I am boasting. But if I tell you I’m not good. You’ll know I’m lying,” McGregor wrote on Twitter.
Replying to fans on Twitter, as has been a habit of the first-ever UFC ‘champ-champ’ lately, McGregor claimed he is in the best place he has ever been, but admits the Poirier fight has yet to be finalised.
“I am raring to go and in the best place I’ve ever been,” he told a fan who lavished praise on him on Twitter. “Excited to show my practices to the world! Still awaiting official confirmation however.”
At the beginning of 2020, McGregor claimed he wanted to fight four times this year and he wanted to be active after just two fights in the previous three-and-a-half years.
The Notorious started well by defeating UFC legend Donald Cerrone in just 40 seconds in January, but the coronavirus pandemic complicated McGregor’s best laid plans.
Still, he attempted to make fights and even released the DMs he shared with UFC president Dana White last month to prove it, much to the boss’ anger.
A fan asked McGregor to add to his impressive accomplishments and get more active in the octagon and McGregor alerted them to the fact that he has been trying and even so – still remains the biggest box office star the sport has ever seen by a country mile.
“After being ignored on the 3 dates I put forward. (3 consecutive dates I might add! Would have had me at 4 fights this calendar year) Followed then by being sidelined because no crowds in attendance, I said f*** this and bounced. Four fights this era = 6mill PPV buys. How much lost?”
