The biggest day in the racing calendar is finally here and we are in for a Melbourne Cup day like no other.
There will be no crowds at Flemington for the race that stops the nation so join us live here for tips, news and results.
So far this morning there has been one scratching with Danny O’Brien runner King of Leogrance undergoing vet inspection and ruled out of the race.
The horse was found to be lame in its off fore leg.
MELBOURNE CUP RACE STARTS AT 3PM AEDT
Damian Lane was its rider and the horse had been a $61 chance.
The news reduces O’Brien’s Cup hand from four runners to three runners as he tries to go back to back after Vow And Declare won last year.
