Next Arsenal manager odds: Massimiliano Allegri favourite for job if Mikel Arteta is sacked, Patrick Vieira and Thierry Henry in the running

Former Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri remains the bookies’ favourite to become Arsenal’s next manager.

Mikel Arteta has overseen the north London club’s worst start to a league season for 38 years – with major question marks over the Spaniard’s long-term future at the Emirates after less than a year in the role.

A poor run of form over Christmas could spell the end to Arteta’s first managerial tenure, having recently been given the dreaded vote of confidence by the club’s chief executive Vinai Venkatesham.

Arsenal currently lie 15th in the Premier League having lost six of their opening 11 games, and entertain struggling Burnley on Sunday night as they bid to stop the rot.

Six-time Serie A winner Allegri is waiting in the wings if Arsenal sack Arteta, with Paddy Power pricing the Italian at just 2/1.

Paris Saint-Germain’s Thomas Tuchel is just behind him at 4/1, while Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers is marked third in the market at 15/2.

Arsenal legend Patrick Vieira, who was sacked by French side Nice earlier this month, is priced at 10/1 alongside Atletico Madrid stalwart Diego Simeone.

Gunners icons Thierry Henry (12/1) and Freddie Ljungberg (16/1) follow next, with former Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez coming in at 18/1.
