Manchester United reportedly missed out on every single one of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s transfer targets this summer.
The Red Devils were heavily linked with Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho throughout the window, while Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish was identified as another forward option.

However, United failed to land any of those players, making only three major signings as Donny van de Beek, Edinson Cavani and Alex Telles arrived.
According to ESPN, none of those players were on Solskjaer’s agenda when the window opened and their business in the market has led to a barrage of criticism from fans and pundits alike.
talkSPORT’s very own Hugh Woozencroft branded their transfer dealings as ‘shambolic’ in a brilliant rant on Tuesday evening’s Kick Off.
Grealish was also a top target for Solskjaer this summerAFP“I don’t really see how any of the players they brought in will make much of a difference at Manchester United right now,” began Woozencroft.
“I know loads of you are going to be screaming ‘Edinson Cavani has got a great record’.
“But he’s been injured a lot over the last two seasons, and he hasn’t played since March, so it will take him time to get up to scratch. When that will be, we don’t know, frankly.
“The left-back, Alex Telles; he’s 28 years old, he’s been playing in the Portuguese league, he cost £15m.
Solskjaer was let down massively by his board in the transfer marketAFP or licensors“I hear he’s great going forward, but I think if he was a fantastic full-back we would have seen more of him and he certainly would have been playing for a different club, with all due respect to Porto.
“The other players that have been brought in… apart from Donny van de Beek, who’s clearly been brought in to be supplementary to [Bruno] Fernandes and [Paul] Pogba and basically be first off the bench.
“That seems to be the role he’s immediately taken up at Manchester United. It means he will barely get the opportunity to change the team on the pitch.
“The other two [Pellistri and Diallo] are youngsters. You just can’t call it a great transfer window at all.
“The recruitment at Manchester United has been shambolic.”
