What more is there left to say about Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi?
It will go down as one of the greatest on-field rivalries in history as both players did all they could to be crowned the best player in the world.
Has there ever been a better rivalry in football? At 35 and 33 respectively, the pair are still looking to break more records in the twilight years of the career and are showing no signs of slowing down.
Messi’s Champions League records are simply staggering, while Ronaldo continues to prove to be a menace for both club and country.
The Portuguese hero added another goal to his international tally in a 7-0 win over Andorra, making it 102 in total, and taking him one closer Iranian legend Ali Daei’s 109.
Below, talkSPORT.com looks at what else the pair could achieve this season.
RONALDO: All-time top European Championship goalscorer
Ronaldo has found the net nine times for Portugal at the four European Championships he’s featured in for his country.
He is currently tied with France’s Michel Platini as the competition’s leading scorer, which means if he scores in the rescheduled 2020 tournament he will be the outright no.1 Euro marksman of all time.
RONALDO: Most European Cup/Champions League wins
The veteran forward currently has five Champions League gongs to his name, with the most recent coming when in 2018 when his Real Madrid side beat Liverpool 3-1.
Now at Juventus, Ronaldo will be hoping to make history and become the second man to win Europe’s prestigious club competition six times – alongside current record holder Francisco Gento.

Lazio’s Ciro Immobile beat Ronaldo to the Serie A top scorer award – scoring 35 times – as well as the European Golden Shoe in 2019/20.
Ronaldo was four behind the Italy striker in the league standings (31) after being left out of the squad for Juventus’ final game of the season against Roma.
While Ronaldo already has six goals to his name in five appearances, he could face even stiffer competition to land this year’s gong – judging by Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s incredible early season form.
The AC Milan frontman, 39, is currently leading the way with eight strikes.
RONALDO: All-time international top scorer
He is now on 102 goals in international football, adding to the remarkable 644 strikes recorded in his club career.
As a result Ronaldo is now EIGHT goals away from becoming the top scoring international footballer of all time – which would surpass Ali Daei’s long-standing haul of 109 goals scored for Iran.

The pair both have eight trebles to their name in the competition – more than any other player has ever achieved – and you’d be mad to bet against either/both of them adding to their respective hauls this term.
MESSI: Top goalscorer for a single team
The Argentina superstar is also primed to set a new world record for goals with a single club this term.
Messi is just four strikes away from eclipsing Pele’s club record of 643, which the Brazil legend recorded with Santos.

The Argentine has 34 to his name and could surpass Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs’ haul of 36 trophies by winning the treble with Barca this season.
Many would deem this feat very unlikely, considering Barcelona’s current struggles, but as we all know anything can happen in football.
It’s been more than two years since the pair last went head-to-head, so a Champions League showdown between Barca and Juventus next month can’t come soon enough.
