Ryan Garcia and Luke Campbell will go head-to-head to open up the new year in boxing.

The two lightweight stars were originally set to face off in December but that date had to be changed after Campbell tested positive for COVID-19.

Thankfully, ‘Cool Hand’ only had mild symptoms and he is now ready to face off against Garcia.

Campbell last four in August 2019 when he lost to Vasyl Lomachenko at The O2 Arena in London.

He’ll want to bounce back from that loss but that won’t be easy against the unbeaten Garcia.

‘The Flash’ is 20 and 0 and beat Francisco Fonseca in February.

Garcia v Campbell: Date and time

This 12-round lightweight bout will take place on Saturday, January 2, 2021 and is being held at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas.

It will be for the vacant WBC interim lightweight title.

The ring walks are expected from 12am on Sunday morning UK time but that will depend on the undercard results.

Rene Alvarado will take on Roger Gutierrez for the WBA super-featherweight title before the main event.

The fight will be shown on DAZN with coverage starting at 8pm.

DAZN can be viewed on smart TVs, game consoles, connected devices, mobile, tablets and computers.
