Sent flying by a former teammate, telling Manchester United fans to ‘f*** off’, pretending to have some beer – welcome back to Old Trafford Angel Di Maria.
The Argentine had a pretty uneventful spell in Manchester but more than made up for lost time on his return when representing Paris Saint-Germain in a Champions League last-16 tie in February 2019.
Di Maria was met with a chorus of boos on his Old Trafford return but rose to the occasionGetty Images - GettyHis Old Trafford return started pretty badly as he was barged into the advertising hoardings by Ashley Young in the first half, Di Maria needing lengthy treatment after the incident.
The home crowd were in no mood to be sympathetic but this only inspired Di Maria to silence them.

It was a painful fall for Di Maria but he got up and carried on and made the Man United fans payGetty Images - GettyTwo quickfire goals from PSG in the second-half put them in a commanding position and the man who provided the assists for both strikes was… yes, you guessed it, Di Maria!
And it was after the first goal, scored by Presnel Kimpembe, when cameras appeared to catch Di Maria firing a barrage of expletives at the United fans.
It’s not fully clear what was said – some believe he shouted ‘f**k off’. You can have a look at the video below and judge for yourself.

There were also some unsavoury scenes in-between both goals when a group of Man United fans at the other corner of the ground threw a bottle of beer at their former player’s direction.
Di Maria took it pretty well, however, electing to pick up one bottle before pretending to drink out of it.

Di Maria made light of the taunting throughout the match, and it seemed like he the last laugh against his former team.
But Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s resurgent Red Devils came back fighting in the second leg of the last-16 tie at the Parc des Princes, going through on away goals with a 3-1 win as Marcus Rashford fired in a stoppage-time penalty.
The circumstances are different ahead of tonight’s clash between Man United and PSG, with the Red Devils needing just a point to seal a place in this season’s Champions League knockout stage.
Di Maria is on the bench to begin with but if his team can do a job on the inconsistent Premier League side then that could leave Man United with the difficult task of avoiding defeat at RB Leipzig in their final Group H match.
