Zinedine Zidane has ‘no doubt’ Sergio Ramos will stay at Real Madrid after the talismanic defender scored his 100th goal for the club in Tuesday night’s thrilling 3-2 Champions League win against Inter.

The Bernabeu skipper put his side two goals to the good against Antonio Conte’s men with a landmark header, on the same day he was linked with a move to Juventus.

Ramos’ current deal expires in 2021, but Zidane doesn’t see him following Cristiano Ronaldo to Italy.

“I have no doubt that he will stay,” the manager said. “He is our leader and of course we love him forever.”

Ramos joined the club from Sevilla in 2005 and made his 500th LaLiga appearances in last weekend’s 4-1 rout over Huesca.

Speaking after the win against Inter, Ramos expressed his happiness at scoring for the 55th time with his head considering Inter had studied their set-piece tactics extensively.

Really strong performance from Inter so far, but @SergioRamos (simply the world's best defending striker – 💯 goals for Real 😮🔥👏🏼) & my boy Benzi @benzema are scoring (as always 😎) #UCL @ChampionsLeague

“We knew from what [Samir] Handanovic said that they had been studying our corner deliveries with Toni [Kroos] finding me,” Ramos told Movistar.

“But the more we can continue to surprise our rivals, the better. They know what they are doing, they have a very defined philosophy and they made the most of that.

“It’s a good result, and three points in a group that had started to look complicated for us.”

Among those to lavish praise on him was his former teammate Mesut Ozil, who called him “simply the world’s best defending striker” in a post on Twitter.

Ramos appeared touched by the words of Gary Lineker, who posted on Twitter: “Unquestionably one of the greatest players of all time. Hard to think of many better in his position.”

Thank you for your words, @GaryLineker. That means a lot coming from you. https://t.co/8niAe111WZ
