Speculation WCW legend and WWE Hall of Famer Sting could appear at AEW Full Gear

It seems like WWE’s merchandise is giving us another clue about a legend’s future.

A couple of months ago we learned that WWE had stopped selling Brock Lesnar’s merchandise and that was because the Beast Incarnate had not signed a new WWE deal.

Sting is one of wrestling’s biggest names still to this dayWWE

It doesn’t seem like Lesnar will be leaving WWE for anywhere else, it’s just he and WWE are not ready to negotiate during a pandemic where he won’t be used.

Now, WCW icon and WWE Hall of Famer Sting’s merchandise has also been removed from WWE shop leading many to believe he is done with the company.

These rumours actually surfaced a few months ago, but it’s believed there is a delay with any superstar that departs the company and their merchandise being pulled.

Coincidentally, AEW are promoting a ‘shocking surprise’ at Full Gear this weekend and many fans have begun speculating that it could be Sting.

AEW Dynamite airs on TNT where Sting has a long history as part of WCW. That means nothing in the grand scheme of things, but AEW has brought in former WCW head Eric Bischoff a couple of times and played up that history, too.

Other theories for this weekend include Tessa Blanchard and Marty Scurll, the latter of whom was recently removed from the Ring of Honor website but is a card-carrying member of The Elite.

AEW have used legends well during their run thus far. Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts serves as the manager to Lance Archer, Arn Anderson manages Cody Rhodes and Tully Blanchard represents FTR and Shawn Spears.

There’s a few more on top of that, too, but could Sting be coming in to manage somebody? Are there some subtle comparisons with Darby Allin?

There are no concrete reports that Sting is heading that way, only fan speculation and a few dots getting connected. However, given the name value that Sting would being to the promotion, it does seem plausible.

Would he return as a performer? One has to imagine that’s far-fetched following his retirement after the beck injury he suffered against Seth Rollins back in 2015. He’s now 61 years old.

I think Sting costs Cody the TNT title setting up a programme between the two. 🤷🏻‍♂️

If Sting shows up at Full Gear, I'll actually mark out like crazy. I don't care if he can't wrestle, his presence alone would raise AEW's stock https://t.co/5D5lfX7DLz

Sting will manage Darby at Full Gear and the AEW fanboys will act like its the greatest thing ever.

In reality, its pretty dumb. Im a Sting fan but cmon, AEW needs to stop with all the coaches/managers

Tbh, I hope Sting comes to AEW to manage Darby Allin. Darby reminds me of Sting with his motives. Sting being back on TNT and endorsing Darby Allin as the new face of TNT would be extremely huge. You could even form Stings new squadron in the future pic.twitter.com/XA4N96fuNw

This pairing is too cool not to happen. #Sting #DarbyAllin #AEW #AEWFullGear pic.twitter.com/j0kQ1rejlk
