With tensions rising as the pair exchanged words, Joyce’s manager Sam Jones taunted Dubois, alleging he ‘bottled’ an amateur final a few years back.
The 22-year-old insisted he was ill, hence the pull-out.
At the end of the presser, when the time came for audience questions, Joyce’s mother Marvel requested the microphone.
Marvel, who is registered 93 per cent blind, asked: “Daniel, if you get ill before the fight, are you going to pull out?

To which Dubois replied: “No my dear. You know what, I’m gonna do you a favour.
“Because you can’t see your son, after he’s been knocked out, you will be spared the heartache.”
Joyce then chimed in: “Oh, aren’t you nice.”
Marvel pushed further: “What would happen if you pulled out?”
And Dubois concluded: “There’s not gonna be no pulling out, I’m gonna be 100 per cent for this fight.”
