Gabriel Rosado finally had his moment of glory on Friday night, albeit a very brief moment that was almost immediately snatched away from him.
The American gatekeeper has previously shared the ring with numerous top names, including Gennady Golovkin, Jermell Charlo and David Lemieux.

Rosado thought he’d got the winEd Mulholland/Matchroom
This time the 34-year-old with a record of 25-12-1 faced Daniel Jacobs.
Despite being a massive underdog, Rosado ended up in a closely contested bout.
It was largely unentertaining and a particularly underwhelming display from Jacobs, but when the final bell rang there was genuine dispute over who would get the decision.
Up stepped ring announcer Jeremiah Gallegos.
Jacobs was the actual victorEd Mulholland/Matchroom
The first score 115-113 to Rosado.
The second score 115-113 to Jacobs.
The final score 115-113 to the winner by split decision…
It was at this moment that Gallegos made his mistake and accidentally said the name of Rosado’s hometown, making him think he’d won, before then correcting himself and confirming it was actually Jacobs with the win.
Rosado celebrated only to turn around and look confused, the big victory he’d craved his entire career came and went in a fleeting instant.
