WWE superstar Mustafa Ali revealed as the shock leader of Retribution on RAW

Retribution’s journey in WWE has been a strange one thus far, but on RAW this week they got some sorely needed direction.

WWE superstar Mustafa Ali has been revealed as their leader as he led the charge against the Hurt Business last night.

Nobody saw Ali joining Retribution coming

Retribution has been running riot in WWE for several months now, but the presentation of the group has left a lot to be desired at times.

They started out as some kind of rebel group that was vandalising WWE’s Performance Center and interrupting WWE programming.

They eventually started targeting the superstars and often in vast numbers. Around SummerSlam, for some reason, they became RAW exclusive.

The Hurt Business – MVP, Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander – were the first to really stand up to the group and we’ve learned about Retribution’s members over the past few weeks.

Dominik Dijakovic, Shane Thorne, Dio Maddin, Mia Yim and Mercedes Martinez are now T-Bar, Slapjack, Mace, Reckoning and Retaliation, respectively.

Retribution are sporting a new look already

But now, Ali is their leader and it seems as if the group will get a real direction. It’s believed that Ali, 34, was slated to be the ‘hacker’ – another storyline WWE started but dropped earlier this year.

A fan even managed to find out that Ali’s voice was the distorted voice of the hacker.

While it hasn’t been revealed yet if the hacker and Retribution are linked in any way, it would make the world of sense if they were.

Fans are hoping that they are linked too, frankly. WWE has a habit of not finishing mystery storylines properly, but this would actually work with Retributions agenda.

WWE will be holding a draft on SmackDown this Friday and that event continues through to RAW on Monday.

It’s unknown if Retribution will be apart of that, but one would presume so after they announced they signed WWE contracts a couple of weeks ago.
